Engineering Party's Obligations:

  1. Project Planning and Management: Establish a detailed project plan, including timelines, resources, and milestones. Manage the project to ensure that tasks are completed on time and within budget.

  2. Technical Design and Execution: Solicit detailed business requirements from all stakeholders. Develop detailed technical designs based on the product idea and execute these designs using appropriate engineering techniques.

  3. Quality Assurance: Implement thorough quality assurance and testing protocols to ensure that the product meets all technical requirements and is free from obvious defects.

  4. Continuous Improvement: Apply a mindset of continuous improvement to optimize the product design and performance throughout the development process. Anticipate design updates due to discountinued component or shortages.

  5. Communication: Regularly communicate with the commercialization party to provide updates on project progress, address any issues or changes in scope, and ensure alignment on project goals and expectations.

Example Commercialization Party's Obligations:

  1. Market Research and Strategy: Conduct comprehensive market research to understand consumer needs and define the product's target market. Develop a go-to-market strategy that outlines the path to product launch and beyond.

  2. Product Definition: Clearly articulate the product idea, its unique value proposition, and its functional requirements. Provide feedback on engineering designs to ensure that they align with the product vision.

  3. Funding and Resources: Provide sufficient funding and resources to support the engineering and product development process. Scale-up funding will also need to be planned for to manufacture, distribute, support customers and maintain product.

  4. Marketing and Sales: Develop and execute a marketing plan to promote the product to the target market. Manage sales efforts to achieve commercialization objectives.

  5. Feedback and Collaboration: Run the user acceptance testing and beta test programs. Actively collaborate with the engineering party by providing timely feedback, making decisions, and resolving any issues that arise. Encourage open communication to facilitate the successful development and launch of the product. Conduct staff training for all customer facing roles.
